Day 4 - Braga and Guimaraes

The fourth day was more relaxing. We drove just 20 km to Braga where we walked throughout the town. My personal nick name of it is town of churches and cathedrals. And no mather how hard I did try to remember at least the name of one of them I did not succeeded:-( After sightseeing in the city liven up searching of parking place(we did really a hard job and managed to park our car after 45 minutes) we drove out of the valley where the town is placed to a hill over the town and visited Sameiro and Bom Jesus. The first one didn't attract me at all. The reason was simple it was not a historical place. The only historical building was a Baroque church. The rest have been done just for business and reminded me just not well done fake. The other one was much nicer. The church itself was just one of many Baroque churches in Braga, but the Baroque staircase with a system of fountains in the middle and a nice Baroque decoration made unforgetable impression. I am not a big fun of Baroque architecture, so you can notice it is worth seeing it. The afternoon we spent in Guimaraes, which is a small and peacefull historical town with many sights. The most remarkable is Guimaraes Castle and the real heart of the town. This evening we tasted for the first time vinho verde. Very young sort of wine, which is guite acrid and it contains less alcohol. And no matter if it is red or white must be served chilled.
